2004 Aveo dash clock goes off during day stays on at nite

Very weird, during the day when I start the car the clock comes on stays on for about 10 minutes then goes off. It won't come back on unless I start the car again and then goes off in 5 minutes. Keeps the correct time! However at nite, it stays on! Anyone have any idea whats going one? It keeps the correct time! I tried google it but keep running across cases where the clock resets to the wrong time. Nine alw3ays keeps the right time, just goes off during the daytime only. I'm baffled.

These clocks suuuuck. I have an 05, and the only time is works is when it's cold out. Just buy a watch or something. That would be cheaper than repairing or replacing it.

I am not sure why it is staying on unless one of your door switches is stuck open. And the clock is staying on waiting for a door to be open. Anything else working weird? dome light?
