New here - which Aveo should I get?

      Hello everyone,

Names Mike I am new to the forum. I do not have pics but will post soon as i decide on an Aveo. I have the opportunity to buy a 2010 Aveo sedan with 160k miles clean title or an 04 hatchback with 76k miles with a salvage title from a wreck. Sedan is manual and hatchback is automatic. Any idea on which would be better than the other for daily driving? I am in the military so driving alot is a must. Thanks in advance for your response

      Welcome, sauceboss!

I strongly prefer a manual transmission - you'll get much better MPG than the automatic if all you do is make sure you shift to top gear as soon as practical, all the time. Also it's just more engaging to drive. I get bored quickly driving a slushbox.

But the miles on the manual sedan are so much higher. Was it properly maintained? Are the prices the same?

FYI, Have you seen this thread?

If you do get that '10 Sedan note the energy label is my advice. I would go for a more recent model for the Sedan version. The '04 I would deff. not take - automatic and to old.

What I meant by energy label is actually the environment label (how much emission, exhaust gas, tax, etc.)

Sauceboss, that label would be the EPA ratings in the U.S., I believe.

Hey guys thanks for all the replys. I went ahead and got the the 2010 sedan. It actually has 120k miles timing belt and tensioner have been replaced. I will post pics soon. I now have a problem with getting it to run right. I have changed the oil and just replaced the exhaust and intake seloniods. But it still takes me 3 try's to start it and bogs down when I'm going slow. 1st and reverse act like I'm pulling a trailer but once I get past 2k rpms it's fine. It acts like it's out of time by a tooth but I don't know. Any help is appreciated. I have codes p0016 and p0017

Congrats on the car... I think??

Would recommend starting a new thread for the codes & symptoms.
