Hi from Oklahoma City - Picked up a 05 Aveo for $500

I have already made a few posts on here but wanted to introduce myself, I picked up a 2005 Aveo (Base model) Hatchback, blue, automatic with 77k miles, has dealer installed crusie control, new tires and I got it for $500, had a busted idler pulley, the plastic around the timing belt idler pulley bearing shreaded off (orig belt/pulley) and made it slip time which bent all of my Intake valves, the exhausts are good, head is being repaired now and I will have it all back together (hopefully) this weekend, all in all I will have $1100 in it total! Only down side is it has hail damage but I dont care, im in it for cheap and in it for the MPG's!! Looking forward to finding lots of info on here.

Congrats man! I think you should rename the thread the cheapest Aveo bought....of course the rest of us is jealous. I got mine off a dealer lot for 9500 with 5K miles in 2007.

On a scale from 1-10 I would say a 5, its only on the hood, roof and right side of the car, the left side is untouched, it would prob run me $1000 for one of those small paintless dent repair shops to fix it. Once I get it back together on saturday I will wash it and post pics. I am dieing to get this thing running!!!! Sick of driving my 15 MPG Z71 truck.

Got it running today!!! I chased a no spark issue for 2 hours, turn out my crank position sensor had corrosion in it, cleaned that am bam, fired right up, go to put some small things on it tomorrow and its ready to go.
