Hello From 8-Valve SOHC Sunny South Africa

Hello Aveo Forum,

I would like to introduce myself. I drive a 2005 Chev Aveo 1.5LS, live in South Africa where our Aveos use the SOHC 8-valve 1.5l Motor.

Attached is a pic of my car, she has served me well for 165000km, I have always done all the maintenance work myself, timing belt replacement, servicing, I even replaced the pasenger side window myself after a break in (I dont trust workmanship in this country) I rebuilt the motor myself at about 110k after she hemorrhaged all her oil thanks to a rock knocking out the sump plug (thanks South African back roads)

I have been toying with the idea of transplanting the 2.0 SOHC 8-valve motor and tranny from an Opel Kadette (90's model, not sure what they were sold as in the states)
