      Lightbulb Greetings from Los Angeles

Hello all I just joined and am glad I found this forum. I own a 2007 Chevy Aveo which I purchased used from a co worker in 2009 whom only owned it for two years. It had 17000 miles on it..I love it... To date i'm at 29000. My question here is that my brake light has come on. About a month ago I hit a hard hole in the middle of the street and a few days later the light came on. Then it went off. I said ok. Then it came on again and i took it in to have the brakes checked. The brakes were ok no problem. The light went off again but came back on. What could this be attributed to? When I start the car its off and I can drive for quite a distance then it will pop again. This has been going on for a couple of months.

it could be the level, or an abs sensor. What part of the brakes did they check? the pads and rotors can be fine, and youll have a light due to the abs. You need someone with the gm scanner to read the abs code.

Yeah you will need the code to figure out what is going on.

Hello all....I thought I would report back and update the group on my brake problem. Took the car into the dealer. Turns out I had two bad break sensors. Both on the passenger side. Front and back. The good thing is that it was covered under my "mechanical breakdown insurance" which I purchased when I brought the car. Saved me $400.00 bucks. Car is now working fine. I also would like to know has anyone heard of a device called "CarMD"? I saw it on television last night and I am curious to know if anyone has used it?

      Donmiguel,
Welcome to the forum! I am glad that you are enjoying your Aveo so much. It is awesome that your dealer figured out the issue, and it was covered for you- that is always a bonus. Now, you can continue to enjoy your car.

Yeah Don I've seen the Car MD. My advise buy a good code reader. I think Car MD has a yearly subscription or some kinda nonsense like that!!
