      My 2009 Chevy Aveo

When my parents were looking at cars for me during the summer last year, they drove home a silver Aveo after I turned down a '98 Monte Carlo. They made me go with them so I could choose between that silver one and the blue one that I ended up with. I just loved the way the blue one looked, and I chose it.

Automatic? Your choice or a case of "beggars can't be choosers"?

      Welcome to the forum.

I have the same car, but in "Tahiti Green" (which actually looks much more blue than green). I hate cars with metallic paint (read: silver). Blue is easy and it looks sharp.

My wife drives it 95% of the time and she loves it. If she's happy, I'm happy.

Sorry it took me so long to reply back to everyone! I just kinda forgot about this thread. I'll make it quick.

@ MetroMPG, I was just starting to learn to drive, and everyone thought it'd be easiest for me to start with automatic. I definately know that I need to learn stick shift at some point though. And honestly, the end choice of car wasn't down to me. I just had the blue Aveo, silver Aveo, and my dad kinda ruled out the Monte Carlo cuz the seat was too harsh on his back. But when I saw that blue one, I just said, let's take the blue one! Didn't even stop to think it over. But I'm sure my parents knew ahead of time, before I made my choice, which cars were auto & which were manual.

@tidus10, when it comes down to color, it's just your taste. I personally believe that a car can only look good in 1 color, in most cases at least.

@thehunteroo, That made my day. But it's pretty much the same thing that I told MetroMPG. Plus, the Aveo had a few features that the Monte Carlo didn't have, well, just one that I can think of: onstar. And the dealership that we got it from gives free oil changes on a car that is at least 2 years old that you buy from them. So, there's one thing that I won't have to worry about ever.

@Daox, I think the car is great! Had a few small problems, but they never majorly affected my car! Runs great, looks great, all due to being around my dad too damn much! I just wish that I actually drove more often to fully enjoy my car...

@Thymeclock, Yeah, blue is definately easy to care for! Usually just use a cleaner wax on it every 4 months or so. Hell, when my parents had the silver one at our house, one of my friends asked me if the car was for me, and I told him yeah, but we're going back to look at the blue one. He told me to get the blue one. I was already pretty sure that I'd choose the blue anyways. What gets me though is that my dad thought that I'd like the silver one, while my mom knew that I'd like the blue one!

Monte seats too harsh? My dad has a bad back too and he never once complained about my Monte's seats. He complained about how much lower to the ground my car is then his, (making it somewhat difficult to get into) but the seats were always described as comfy and supportive. As for features, at the time, the Monte's feature put it ahead of it's class with it's standard features. Onstar wasn't added to the Monte's though until 2000 I believe.
